Since I wrote this post, I had two babies and designed two nurseries! Since we didn’t find out the gender with either of them before they were born, we relied on having gender neutral nurseries before we brought our babies home.

To my knowledge, I won’t be having children for at least another year or so (after I’m finished with school), but my husband and I have talked/thought a lot about how we would decorate the room for a baby. Neither of us really want to know the gender of our child. Correction, I don’t want to know, he does, haha. Either way, we were talking about how we would use gender neutral colors when we do decorate and I really love some of the rooms that you posted above. I really loved the ones with the gender neutral colors with the splashes of pinks and blues; though, I think my hubby would want to use green since that’s his favorite color, haha. I can’t wait until we have children and I will certainly be keeping these suggestions in mind when it comes to decorating!

They are all so sweet, Christina. My fave is the one with a “latte” color on the walls, white woodwork and furniture, and the sweet mural of trees and bird cage. I know you will do something truly special and unique for your little bundle.

I don’t think I can pick a favorite! So many things I love about each one – I’d probably borrow ideas from all of them and create my own quirky space!
Have so much fun with decorating your nursery Christina! I can’t believe those days are already over and done with for me!!!

I used several of these photos as inspiration for our nursery when we were decorating! We didn’t find out the gender of our little one until she was born, either. I LOVE the board and batten, it makes the room so beautiful and classy. We ended up doing neutral and adding little pops of pink later on…I actually bought a blue and a pink crib sheet to have right away, and then returned the blue one 🙂 Here is a tour of our nursery, in case you’re interested: http://www.unoriginalmom.com/baby-checklists-gender-neutral-nursery-tour-checklist/
Have fun decorating!!

Thanks for sharing these great neutral nursery ideas. I like your suggestion of adding “pink” or “blue” accents once the baby is born to a neutral decorated nursery.
New parents painting our nursery says
Thanks so much for this article! We our expecting our first baby in about three weeks, and were completely clueless on how to go about painting the nursery. These are some really great suggestions. Keep up the good work here!

I have looked all over the internet for a crib just like the one in the picture under “formal and beautiful” with the chandelier and fur rug. Do you mind telling me where I could possible find this crib?

Sorry Trudy, I do not! Wish I could help!
