These monster cookies were kind of my trademark. I think I may have even earned extra credit for bringing my teachers some on a regular basis. Oh, the perks of going to a small private high school.
The best thing about these cookies? Besides the fact that they’re basically giant, puffy, chocolate clouds of deliciousness? There’s only 4 ingredients. Um – yes.
The secret for these cookies is to use CAKE MIX. This secret ingredient makes these unlike any other cookies, and it makes it SO EASY!
PS – just wanted to give you a behind-the-scenes peek at what I have to deal with here:
He got pretty upset when he realized I wasn’t going to let him eat those- whoops!
When you bake these (because it’s not a choice – you really have to make them) make sure you space them far apart on your cookie sheet – they’re not called “monster cookies” for nothing!
Enjoy a few for me, OK?

- 1 box devils food cake mix
- 1 cup mini M&Ms
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 eggs
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees
- Mix the cake mix, softened butter, and eggs in a medium bowl until just combined
- Add mini M&Ms
- Spoon onto baking tray - leave plenty of space between cookies
- Bake for 12-14 minutes
- Enjoy!
Now if only I could EAT these cookies once a week like I did in high school…
