I am so excited to share my blue and brown Christmas mantel today! I stepped out of my neutral comfort zone and decided to add some *color* in this year!
I love that this mantel will be able to carried into the winter months after Christmas so seamlessly. The blue also picks up the little accents in my mom’s living room after the make-over we did this summer, so it was easy to incorporate this color scheme!
Here’s what the whole mantel looks like from across the room:
On the left, I added two of the yarn tress I made, along with the free Oh Holy Night printable I made (in a few different color schemes!). I added a container I got at a yard sale this summer, with some of those scented pinecones and some ornaments from JoAnns. The pinecone garland was also used in my fall mantel – and this was free at a yard sale a few years ago! I really love how it all ties in with the $1 pinecone wreath over the mirror.
On the other side, I used glass containers I already had on hand, and paired them with a dish from Ross (the original inspiration piece for the living room make-over!), a candle I had in my house, a thrifted blue ball jar, as well as sticks I had leftover from last year’s Christmas projects.
We also added a corbel my mom had (the other ones are used in her kitchen):
I seriously love how it all came together, and how different it is from the “traditional” Christmas colors!
What do you think?? Will you venture away from the reds and greens this year?

Love this combo! The colors are so classy and it will look great all winter. My mantel is red and gold and I probably won’t change it because I don’t want to buy anything new 🙂 This does sway me a little!

So very lovely! I really like to shade of blue you chose…goes along with the natural theme. My home has a bit of a Christmas identity problem…red & green in one room, brown & green in another, then there’s the black & pink bathroom…I have issues! Haha! Merry Christmas!
