We’re in the process of selling our current house and moving into our potential “forever home”, and for the most part, I’m ready and excited for the move! However, selling a home can also be super emotional (especially if you’re 25 weeks pregnant…) When I think about moving from this house, there’s one piece that I will miss above all of the other pieces that I love:
THE window seat. Sigh. We didn’t have to do too much to it – I fell in love with it when I walked through the house for the first time:
But once we cleaned it up a little bit, and I made a window seat cushion, it has become the most used space in our house. Buckley is constantly perched up there looking for dog walkers and squirrels:
But one of the things that really makes me cry is thinking about how much Isaac has already grown up in this house. In this window seat! My brother in law took some newborn pictures of Isaac on the window seat the week he came home from the hospital:
So many newborn snuggles happened in this very spot:
My husband has done his fair share of school work on this window seat:
We just love sitting here and watching the world outside of our little home:
We’ve seen first smiles in the window seat:
Lots of laughs:
It’s the perfect place to relax and read a good book:
And soak up the baby snuggles that we know won’t last forever:
It’s the perfect spot to watch “dada” come home:
I can’t even tell you how many hours we’ve spent reading books on this window seat:
And quite possibly my favorite view – looking in from the outside. Seeing my three boys sitting in the window seat literally makes me cry because my heart feels so full.
Going through all of these pictures made me realize just how much I will miss this space in our home. I know we’re going to make new memories in our next home, but I will treasure these memories that we made on this little window seat forever!
Porch.com asked me to write a post about my favorite spot in my home – and this was an easy pick. Check out Porch.com – it’s a home improvement network partnered with Lowe’s, and it’s a great place to find professionals, get inspired, and manage your home (and it’s free – yay!) This post is not sponsored by Porch– but I think you’ll love the site! Use the hastag #loveyourhome across social media channels to see more!
Moving is such an emotional roller coaster! We made the move from our first home to our ‘forever’ home last July. Although it was time and completely worth the transition it is so difficult saying goodbye. Each spot holds a million memories, especially when you have children! Just remember that the memories will move with you and your new home will not only function for you and your family better but will also be a place for you to make a million new memories. 🙂
I couldn’t have said it better, Krystle! That’s exactly it! The move is worth it in a million ways, but there’s a lot of memories attached to a home – and YES especially with children!!
Wow….what an awesome spot. I would really dislike giving that up also. Good luck on your move.
Thanks, Pam! It’s going to be so hard, but we’re moving into such an incredible house!! 🙂
