This simple joy to the world chalkboard decoration is an easy way to decorate for Christmas! A simple Christmas decor piece – a template is provided so you can make your own for free! Affiliate links included.
You know what’s more important than Christmas home decor? A LOT.
I’m vowing to keep. it. simple. this year! I’m starting a series on my Instagram all about it – called #HaveaSimpleChristmas. I hope you join in with us and share your simple decor (and ideas to simplify the Christmas season in general!)
This decor cost me $0 and could be used in a variety of ways! Use a different chalkboard, different wreath, different quote…just keep it simple!
Here’s my very quick video tutorial for how to do the same:

*note: when you’re using a chalkboard, you need to make sure it’s “seasoned”. It’s really important to do this BEFORE you use it for the first time, so you’re able to easily erase your chalk after you use it the other times.
To season a chalkboard, all you need to do is place a piece of chalk (not chalk marker) on it’s side, and rub it ALL over the chalkboard surface. Then, rub in and all around the chalkboard until it’s all rubbed in and then eventually rubbed off. After this, you’re good to go and begin your project!

And this little joy to the world chalkboard sits over our Christmas village (also lit up with the lights). I just love how it all looks together!
