My favorite social media is Instagram. Hands down. I love interacting with people there, and I’m inspired every single time I log in.
I wanted to start sharing my favorite inspiring Instagram accounts here on my blog so I could introduce you to my favorite feeds and the women behind them. My first feature is the amazingly talented Sandra from Old Silver Shed. Prepare to fall in love with her stunning Cape Cod home:
Sandra moved to the Cape to raise their twins in an area where they could have a relationship with the ocean and where they could create a simple life (after living in Silicon Valley for five years).
Sandra says:
“We bought an old folk victorian cottage on Old Silver Beach with hopes of restoring it but it was too far gone, so we took it down and saved everything we could, we followed all the original design elements from the cottage and put all the pieces we could back into the new house with hopes of making it feel like it was here for 100 years.”
Sandra is passionate about great design. She collects anything that she believes is a beautiful example of this, whether it’s her B&B Charles sofa designed by Antonio Citterio, or a simple seashell that has the perfect color and shape. She says that making it all work together has been somewhat of a challenge but she believes that it can work because the common thread is the fact that things share design excellence.
Sandra calls her style “vintage modern luxe” (Amy Chalmers came up with this!)
She’s a graphic designer by career, so you will see lots of typography in her home.

I am a huge instagram fan as well! I love being able to scroll thru pretty pictures as I am in line at the grocery store or waiting in the car to pick up the kids. No time is wasted!
