Great front porch decorating ideas! An oversized wood sign, bench, and outdoor area rug help to define this space, and can provide inspiration for your own! I have partnered with Raymour & Flanigan and received product in exchange for this post. All opinions are always 100% my own. Full disclosure here.
One of the first things I fell in love with on our 1902 Victorian fixer upper was the front porch. It ended up being one of our biggest headaches when we first started renovations though, because we needed to tear up the whole floor and replace the columns (see all of the pictures & backstory here)
I finally got to decorate a corner of our wrap-around front porch:
I just love how this turned out! I don’t love our exterior stone, and I made this “gather” sign to visually direct away from the stone:
Shop this front porch look:
We got this bench because it’s multi-functional … it’s the perfect space to sit, and a table pops out of the middle if we would want to have a snack outside (which, if you’ve met my kids, you know it all. the. time.)
To add a collected, cozy, and warm feel, we added a rug, pillows, and a stool:
I’m so excited for the weather to be warmer consistently (it’s been unseasonably cold for May here in PA!) so I can sit out here with my kiddos during the day eating our lunch, or at night drinking a glass of wine with my husband. I can hardly wait!
Have you seen how we made our backyard a functional and beautiful space? You have to check it out! And while you’re here, I’d be thrilled if you would sign up for my e-mail address at the end of this post 🙂

Christina,
I really like that rug. I am looking for a similar design color for my bedroom. I know that it is listed as outdoor. Would you use it for a bedroom?
It is not carried in the RF stores, so it is hard to decide on spending that much $$$$.
Hi Tricia! I love the rug, and I think it’s great quality. You’d have to realize that an outdoor rug isn’t “cushy” though. We have indoor/outdoor rugs in our bedroom, and they work well there too! Just as long as you’re not expecting it to be plush 🙂
Beautiful porch!! That bench/table is so cool. 🙂

thank you, Megan!! We love it 🙂
Absolutely beautiful! You have such an eye for decorating!
And by the way…I think the stone on your house is really unique and pretty! ?
That bench is beautiful and so handy with that little pop up. I can see that it would be perfect for your wee ones.
I can I just say that I’m crushing on that wrap around front porch…can you see my green eyed monster poking his head out??
That bench is FANTASTIC! Love how it pops up and then back down again! Off to check that out!
Your porch is gorgeous! I love the bench and your ‘gather’ sign. I’m off to see the tutorial for making that. 🙂
ahh working on the tutorial right now! Should be up by tomorrow 🙂 Thanks so much, Stacey!!
How did you mount your sign to your exterior stone?
We put a concrete nail into the grout between the stones and hung it with picture wire from there 🙂
I came across your beautiful sign on Pinterest and everything looked so familiar to me and after visiting your blog I realize that I pass your house several times a week heading to and from work. We are neighbors! I live one street down and to the right! I love what you’ve done with your home and yard and if course I love the sign.
Oh my goodness Wendy how fun!! Thanks for sharing with me – we’re outside a lot…if you’re ever walking past & see us outside make sure you say hi 🙂
