spring
s.p.r.i.n.g.
Want a tutorial? I’ve got one for you (even if you didn’t want one…muahaha) 😉
I then tore the music into strips, and mod-podged the strips onto some white cardstock…
I made 6 sections because “spring” has 6 letters:
I let this dry, and then put it under some heavy books overnight to flatten it out.
I cut out the letters, and then traced them onto the mod-podged sheet music:
Then, I cut them out, and I smeared some ink on the edges of the letters to give it a little bit of an aged look.
My husband had the idea to tie in the music notes to spring…birds! Perfect!
Wait…let’s back that up a second. My husband…had an idea…about how to decorate…and I loved it…?! This might be a FIRST! WOW! I’m so excited!!!! Usually I get a, “Hm, sure, it looks great…”
I <3 style=”display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;” src=”http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LmgWk_jG56Y/TYaEkD87z_I/AAAAAAAABig/r6npgM-VKiA/s320/Spring%2B2011%2B881.JPG” border=”0″ alt=”” id=”BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5586298142870720498″>
So I mounted them on some of the scraps of sheet music, and it made it much better!
Lastly, I switched out the original knob for this cute one I bought at Lowes for a project that never happened…
And it’s finished!!
Cost breakdown:
I love it!!
What a great way to use up all that sheet music. I know I still have some lying around from when I used to be in band. Maybe now I can use them. 🙂
What a lovely craft! It made my heart sing.
I too was thrilled to welcome in spring!

Very cute!
You project sings Spring, but I Shutter to think how cold it is here in Ohio.
Seriously love the layout, stencil and cut lettering. I would've done it the hard way first! Thanks for shaving off about five hours for me.
So really cute.
