Remember when I shared my back deck a few months ago? It was pretty sad. We worked on it throughout the summer (see #christinasbackdeck for progress pictures on Instagram) but we didn’t finish it the way I had originally envisioned. At the end of August, I declared that it was officially done for the year, and we could make it ever better next summer.
Although it’s not completely finished, it’s fun space that we love to spend a lot of time in! I spruced it up for fall to share it with you guys:
Can we please talk about this bench for a minute? I shared on Instagram that I had been searching high & low for a bench under $100 all. summer. long. I had almost given up…and I found this one on Craigslist! I paid $75 for it – and it’s maybe the prettiest bench I’ve ever seen:
I just love this fall-ified corner too! Don’t these bamboo screens make such a difference in this space?
We have this little microwave cart that used to live in our kitchen – I’ll eventually give it a little makeover, but it’s perfect for our outdoor space right now:
I found this old table in our basement – I just love the green color! And although my husband can’t wait to spruce the top up a little, I think it works out perfectly for a potting table:
I really wanted our back deck to look great because it’s the main entrance to our house (the front door needs a skeleton key to come in & out … not exactly easy to put on a keychain!)
Since I focused on our back deck this year, I kept things really simple on our front porch (see what it looked like decorated for fall last year):
I know our gardens aren’t super impressive, but they’ve come a long way since we’ve moved in! We have a bunch of mature plants, and then we had a completely empty side garden (the old owners had tomato plants here)
And just so you can appreciate the back deck’s transformation (see progress pictures on Instagram by looking up #christinasbackdeck)
We put lights up – and I just love the ambiance at night! I’m already excited about hot chocolate & sweats on this deck throughout the fall:
