Today’s bedroom refresh is sponsored by Walmart to celebrate their new launch of Gap Home products! This post contains affiliate links – full disclosure here. As always, all opinions are 100% my own.
Our bedroom wasn’t in need of a makeover, but it was in need of a refresh.
I shared the documentation on my Instagram stories – our old duvet cover had a hole in it (from Mickey’s toenails) and the zipper broke a long time ago.
Our battery operated candles were dead.
And one of my two plants got spider mites and died too.
It was safe to say, it needed a little bit of attention.
Gap Home Bedding:
When I got approached to work with Walmart for their exclusive launch of Gap Home products – I took one look at their bedding and knew I needed it in my life!
Imagine Gap clothes – but in home decor form. The Gap home line is classic and current all at the same time. I personally love the more neutral quilt and comforter I bought. Personally, I like to keep the bigger bedding items more neutral, so I can have fun playing with pattern with things like sheets and pillows. I bought these adorable floral sheets for our bed and I’m in love!

I also painted some Facebook marketplace vases with the baking soda, baking powder + some leftover paint I had on hand.
And I even got to add some snapdragons I grew from seed in our garden this summer!
When I was taking these pictures, I had a sweet little girl come jump on the bed with her stuffed monkey. I just had to snap a picture – these kinds of pictures are my favorites 🙂
Winning bedding combination:
My favorite bedding combination is:
- sheets
- with small scale print
- quilt
- neutral/solid – can go with many patterns
- comforter/duvet
- striped and folded at the bottom of the bed
- shams, pillows, + decorative throw pillows
- change out the throw pillows for the seasons
With this combination, we can comfortably sleep together (my husband gets super hot while he sleeps while I do not!). We can also easily change smaller pieces of the bedding out for summer vs. winter without needing a whole new bedding set.
I hope that these tips help you to create a peaceful, functional, and calming bedroom space!

I would have loved to have seen the entire bedroom. However, what I did see is absolutely gorgeous, and so are your little cutie and her stuffed monkey. Thanks for sharing
