Come along with me for my best friend’s porch makeover, on a small budget in just a few days! This post is sponsored by Walmart – as always, all opinions are 100% my own.
I’ve been sharing this makeover in real-time on my Instagram stories, but it’s time for some of these makeover pictures to live here on my blog!
If you don’t know the story of me and who my best friend (since childhood) is, then you’re going to want to go to my Instagram and watch my “BFF” highlight to get caught up. It includes many pictures of us growing up … enjoy haha.
A porch makeover story:
Just to give you some backstory on her porch, here’s what we started with:
And then we took everything off the porch, and were left with this:
I repaired the concrete, and we power washed it after it dried:
Ahh already so much better, right?
But I wanted to add the amazing transformative power of paint to this space, so I got to work. First, I painted the concrete:
Then I came back to paint the doors. I cannot get enough of black doors, and this just looks so nice with the door painted dark!
And now – for the fun part!
Adding decorations to the porch:
This is going to have to come in 2 parts. I was able to do a portion of the decorations today, and then I’m hoping I can finish it off tomorrow and I’ll post pictures of the FINAL porch tomorrow too!
For now, I added these beautiful black planters to either side of the door, and plopped some ferns in them:
A fresh new doormat does wonders too…
And these cute wall pockets filled with faux succulents hang on the left side of the door to help balance out the window on the other side:
Guess what? I bought ALL of those decorative touches at Walmart – and I just love how great they all look together!
Walmart has a new section (in some stores – always online too!) called “Wow & Now”. It’s basically a place you’re going to want to shop at when you’re finished purchasing your essentials, because they’re super affordable and on-trend pieces.
The galvanized wall pockets AND the welcome mat were both found in the Wow & Now section, and I know I’ll be peeking at what’s available when I check out online!
Click here to shop the Wow & Now section of Walmart’s website – they change the products so often and there’s a LOT of great picks!
Adding a rug + furniture to the porch:
OK so I went off book a littttle bit and ended up buying a new set of furniture for my best friend’s porch. I just couldn’t help myself! I added these at the last minute and I am so glad I did!
This rug was SUPER affordable – as in, I can’t believe how cheap it was haha. I bought the 5×7 and it’s perfect out here!
I just couldn’t be happier with how this all came together. I hope it inspires you to take a space in your home, and put a little bit of work into it to make it better than it was before!

Just a reminder of what this space has come through in just about a week:

Looks great! So cosy and welcoming. The wall-mounted succulents are a very nice touch.

Hello. That looks lovely. Can you share some
more details on how exactly you repaired the concrete? We have a couple of places that could use that kind of attention and I am at a loss to know what to do.
Thanks!
