I was looking for a simple mobile to put above our sleigh crib in our nursery, and I was frustrated with how expensive they were or how tacky they looked. So I decided to make my own DIY mobile – and it was just simple enough to fit in with the rest of the nursery!
This is SO simple – I just made paper pinwheels and attached them to a piece of driftwood (which was actually from the cruise we went on last year!).
Here’s the SIMPLE tutorial for how to make the paper pinwheels:
1. Fold a square piece of paper accordion style
2. Cut the accordion in half
3. Put the two halves together with a bent paperclip wrapped around the midpoint
4. Glue the paper together where the seams meet.
Once you’ve made your desired number of pinwheels, you can string fishing wire (which is what I used) or ribbon through the middle of the pinwheel onto whatever you’d like to use as a base. I then used the fishing wire to attach the driftwood to a hook in our ceiling.
Simple as that!
