Tis the night before Thanksgiving…and I just can’t help myself! I’m in full-on Christmas mode!
Just wanted to share a super QUICK and EASY project to get you excited for an amazingly awesome giveaway that will be happening on Friday…
I made this DIY wooden nativity scene for an early Christmas present for my parents this year. My mom always asks for Christmas decorations for a gift, but I feel weird giving them to her on Christmas day. So I decided to surprise her with an early gift so she could get a little more use out of it this year!
I used my brand NEW Silhouette machine (um – is that a huge hint about what I’m going to be giving away on Friday?!) to make this. I didn’t take tutorial pictures because it was simple & I know you could make it so quickly too!
We cleaned up a piece of scrap wood from the basement (pine) and I used my Silhouette Portrait software to fit this image to the size of the board. I used paint that I had in my stash to paint the board (2 coats) and then I applied my cut red vinyl to the wood:
We can’t decide whether we like this decoration on top of the door or on my mom’s mantel (remember I posted about it last year?) Which one do you like better?
Have you started decorating for Christmas yet? Or are you really faithful in waiting until after Thanksgiving?

Love that! I may have to make one – if I can find time for my silhouette to make anything besides stencils for my pillows that are selling like hotcakes!
I think I like the board on the mantel the best.
and my house is all decorated but the tree – I’m debating on trying my hand at flocking it before I put it up.

We don’t have our tree up yet either, Jill! We’ll get it this weekend 🙂 And that’s a GOOD problem to have with your pillows selling so well – yay!!! 🙂
