My neighbor gifted me with a bag of beautiful dried hydrangeas the other week. I was so excited, but I had no idea how I wanted to use them! After letting them sit for a few weeks, I decided to try a little experiment, and see how they would look as a frame:
This was a super easy project, and I just love how it turned out! The best part: it was *free*! I also don’t think I’ve ever seen a dried hydrangea frame before, so that’s always exciting 🙂
All you need is an old frame, hot glue, and dried hydrangeas.
I simply cut down bigger blooms, and hot-glued them piece by piece onto the frame:
By the end, it gets to be a little like a puzzle. There were a few spots that were fuller or more sparse, so I filled in where I needed. The charm of this frame is that it’s organic, and not perfect.
I think it looks awesome with the frame I got for 99 cents last year:
Sandy wasn’t too impressed by the frame, but she looked too cute – I had to take a picture:
Do you have dried hydrangeas around your house? How do YOU like to decorate with them?

So pretty, Christina! I love the color!
My hydrangea plants went wop wop in the summer heat, and are rehabilitating now after I trimmed them. I hope they start producing flowers now that it’s cooler.

When I owned a flower shop, customers paid big bucks for dried hydrangea arrangements. Your frame is gorgeous. Dollar well spent!

Beautiful dried hydrangea frame, I’d love to make one for myself! Really, the cutest is Sandy, your little pug, who could care less, lol..We had a 13 year old pug Ben who died 2 years ago and we miss him so much still. Big hugs,

I absolutely love this, and hydrangeas are my favorite flowers! Do you know how this would travel? I am thinking about giving it for Christmas presents, but it would have to survive a trip in a suitcase! Any advice??
Thanks!

This is so beautiful! I love hydrangeas. Did you dry them yourself? I don’t have hydrangea bushes (don’t see many of them here in Florida) but the blossoms I have tried to dry didn’t look very good.
