UPDATED: This community has begun and admissions will re-open on January 1, 2019. E-mail me at christinasadventures (at) gmail.com if you would like to be put on the waitlist!
Today’s the day! I’ve been working really hard behind the scenes – and today I can finally share what I’m so excited to launch for all of you!
First – a little background. I have always loved the community aspect of blogging. It’s what made me start a blog back in 2010, and it’s really what’s kept me here for all of these years. It’s why I love social media – I get to connect with YOU. I love hearing that you’ve made a space in your home more beautiful with a tutorial I have on my website. It makes my day when you send me a picture of your first DIY project you completed from my encouragement.
And now? I’m excited to take this to the next level. I want YOU to be able to have a place where you can interact with me on a more personal level, and also interact with each other. I have the BEST readers, and I want to create a space where we can all collaborate, encourage, and inspire each other.
Having a tribe around you that can help encourage you and your home decor decisions is an AMAZING feeling.
Here’s what you guys are saying is stopping you from starting (or finishing) your home projects. Do any of these sound familiar to you?
Wow. I was hit with all of the negative words towards yourself and your own abilities. See them?
“I’m intimidated. I’m afraid. I’m overwhelmed. I’m nervous. I struggle. I worry. I can’t…”
That’s where this group comes in. You CAN. And I want to encourage you through it!
By joining my creative community, you will be surrounded by encouraging and supportive women. We will rally around each other and help make design decisions (of course I’ll be helping too!). We will celebrate every DIY project completed, help when mistakes are made, and challenge each other to do new things.
I explained it all in this video:
Here’s what it will look like to be a part of this creative community:
*find the yellow “subscribe” button at the end of this post to join today!*
Here’s some more details:
- I will challenge the group to work on one space in their home every month.
- I will share decorating ideas (not just things from my own home!) and help you create a vision for your space.
- These projects will not require a massive amount of time or money to accomplish. Sure, you can work on a bigger DIY project if you’d like to, but I am excited to find ideas that will help to make your space beautiful even with a smaller budget while leading a full life outside of decorating your home.
- I will work to find ideas for people with $10, $100, or $1000 each month. I will work to find ideas for people with 30 minutes, 3 hours, or a full weekend.
- I want it to be clear that this does NOT mean you will have to commit to a major project each month! It can be little changes OR a bigger project – but those little changes can really add up over time to create a beautiful space.
- I will share decorating ideas (not just things from my own home!) and help you create a vision for your space.
- You will have a space to share your progress, ask the group for feedback, and share your successes with everyone.
- Post your pictures of your progress, questions, challenges, ideas, in our group anytime.
- I will open up a comment thread every week where you can post your pictures so I can look at them and give general design advice.
- Not only will I give advice, but you’ll also receive advice from the rest of the community!
- I have hired Brittany from Brittany Bee Studio to create hand lettered designs exclusively for our creative community. You will receive desktop wallpaper cell phone background with hand lettered and drawn designs every month. She will also be making two different printables for each season that will be *exclusive* to our group and will not be offered anywhere else.
Here are the hand drawn backgrounds for November – see how beautiful they are? You’ll get new ones each month!
- Finally, I will host a giveaway only for members of the Creative Community. I will give away a gift card every month to a member of our group that can help go towards a project you may be working on that month (think: Target, Lowe’s/Home Depot, Michaels, Amazon, etc.)
- The size of the giveaway will increase as the number of people in the group increases!
Just another note – I will be donating 10% of my monthly profits from this community to charity. I will share the charity we donate to every month – I love finding ways we can all come together and make a difference, so I’ll be looking for other ways we can do this throughout the year.
Note: the price of $8 a month WILL increase in 2019 for new members.
Members who sign up in the first round will be able to keep their $8/month membership rate even when it increases next year
What will change here?
Not too much will change on my actual blog. I might even spotlight some of the best ideas/projects from our group. My goal is that I will be able to build this group up enough so I won’t be posting as many sponsored posts on my blog as well. I have always been really choosy with the companies I work with, but this will allow me to be EVEN more so, which is the place I like to be in.
BUT this group will be my first priority. It will be what I respond to first when I have time to work, where my energy goes, and where I can answer questions from you. I feel SO bad when I can’t answer your questions about your specific spaces after you send me messages/e-mails…THIS community will help me to have a space to do that! I will be in the group every day, listening to all of you and encouraging you through your projects – no matter how big or small!

This is awesome! I’m so excited to be part of this group of creative ladies. I have many “ little” projects in my home I need help with. Looking forward to some fresh ideas

Do I have to have pay pal account?
Christina says
Yes you do 🙂

I am so interested in this! Why do I need a FB account? I deleted my account over 10 years ago because of my work (privacy). Is there another way? Or will the actual posts and discussions be on FB? If it’s just to sign up, I could use my husband’s account, but if the whole forum occurs on there, I’m out 🙁
Christina says
I’m sorry Ashley! I understand it’s not a perfect system, but yes the group is on Facebook.

Hi Christina! I subscribed to the Creative Community (and am very excited about it!), but I didn’t receive any kind of confirmation in my email. How do I sign in? I did have to fill out some security questions on the Facebook link; once you’ve confirmed those, will I receive an email?
Christina says
You’re in the group!! 🙂 Let me know if there’s any other questions you have!
Margaret Angelo says
Thank you Christina for helping me get to the community creative place. Margaret
Cynthia Pecking says
Thanks Christina! And how do I access the group?
Christina says

I too am disappointed that a Facebook account is required for this community. I made the conscious decision years ago to not go there. Let me know if anything changes & you come up with a workaround for us non Facebookers.
Christina says
I’m so sorry! I want to find something that works for everyone. I will be working on an e-mail option for the new year <3
