Whether you’re fixing up an old house (like we are) or making your house fit your style, you can’t forget that the details can truly make or break a room. One of those details we’ve been working on in our home is switching out our old locks and installing new door hardware. I was proud to work with Schlage for this post and install one of their Schlage Sense™ locks in our door:
I’ll be sharing a whole post tomorrow about exactly how we updated and painted this whole door, but for right now – I’ll leave you with this before and after. Not only does the painted door look so much better, but look at how beautiful that hardware looks!
It’s always a good idea to replace your locks after you buy a house. You never know who has a key to the locks on your home! We’ve been slowly updating our locks since we moved in 1.5 years ago, and this lock is by far our favorite:
The really great feature about this door handle is that it has a touchpad entry. There’s truly “an app for that” – there’s even an app that goes along with the Schlage Sense™ lock and will help us get into our house! I’m thrilled that I won’t be able to lock us out of the house (it’s totally happened before). I also love that I can teach my kids the code for the lock instead of having to worry about them losing a key.
There’s lots of varieties in finishes/styles to choose from – you can view all of them here.
It’s kind of incredible what can be done with technology now – the Schlage Sense™ door lock can be unlocked with a key, a code, through the app, or even through Siri! To see more details on how it works, and why it’s a really smart option for you when you update your door locks, go to their website here.
