Part 1 of our cruise with Norwegian Cruise Line posted here
Port #2: St. Maarten
We were so ready to hit the BEACH at our second port – the beautiful St. Maarten! This island is 1/2 French and 1/2 Dutch, but we were only on the Dutch side. It was actually a holiday when we were there, so it was pretty quiet (which we loved!!). We got an early start and took a water taxi over to the beach:
Come on – how can you not get in the island spirit with $2 beers on a water taxi with these views??
One of my favorite moments from the day was sitting on the beach, listening to an outdoor church service. Something about seeing all of the incredible beauty surrounding us, and then hearing a congregation worshipping God was just so powerful!
Oh, hello hubby!
We sat and split a cheeseburger in the “Barefoot” restaurant. AND has some delish drinks:
We ended the day with a visit to a little touristy bar near the ship, and got to talk with an older couple (in their 80s) who were on a cruise from England. They were fascinating, and had travelled all around the world!
We did get a little sunburnt in St. Maarten, but we didn’t care too much!
Port #3: St. Thomas
We were excited to visit the beautiful St. Thomas as our third port. We decided to pay for a taxi ride over the mountain to the gorgeous Magen’s Bay (rated one of the top 10 beaches in the world!!) Since we had gotten sunburnt the day before, we parked ourselves under a big shady tree and just enjoyed the perfect weather.
Taking a stroll down the beach…
I couldn’t get over how gorgeous the island looked as we were sailing away – breathtaking!
So happy & relaxed!!
We had the pleasure of dining in one of the ship’s specialty restaurants this night – we ate teppanyaki. Holy moly. It was AMAZING! I think I rolled out of the restaurant – we ate WAY too much! I just couldn’t stop because it was SO GOOD!
We got to sit with a super nice couple from Brooklyn.
PS – I loved my leopard dress I got from the Express outlet for less than $15 Score!
We had fun sitting in the super psychedelic chairs in the Spinnaker lounge while watching an illusionist. Fascinating!
Ugh looking at these pictures makes me want to go back so badly!!
Stay tuned for the finale – part 3 coming soon!
