Summertime – I love you. Our pace has slowed, we spend about 75% of the day outside, and we’ve been enjoying our home inside and out.
I asked my Instagram friends (are you following along? Love it over there!) if anyone wanted to see a summer house tour. A bunch of people said yes, so here it is…better late than never!
I recently got some pictures taken of our home by Olivia of Laura Olivia Photography (if you’re local, you should really check her out! She takes gorgeous pictures) for a fun upcoming project – can’t wait to share!
I figured this would be the perfect time to share some updated pictures of our home.

Centerpiece box with mason jars – love ours so much!
When we’re not outside or in the kitchen, we spend most of our time in our family room:
I am so happy to have TWO kids who love books…we spend so much time in this corner:

I didn’t take pictures of my office because it’s so not picture-ready right now- ha!
We’ve been working hard at getting our outdoors cleaned up this summer. It’s come a long way, but we still have so many ideas for the outside of our home (that will take years to accomplish!

Now I know EXACTLY what I’m using when I replace my kitchen counter tops! Can you find them at a big box store? Thanks for the inspiration.
Christina says
yay! so glad! We were kind of advised by the people AT the big box stores not to shop with them for counter tops – ha! Look around you – there’s a really good chance you can find a better deal & a better product outside the big box stores 🙂 And here’s the post all about our counter tops if you haven’t seen it already! 🙂 christina-maria.com/2016/06/leathered-granite-counter-tops.html

What is the paint color in your family room, entry hallway, and the kitchen wall with the large clock? Are they different from each other? Thank you!
Christina says
kitchen wall – Martha Stewart Sharkey Gray, Hallway & family room – BM Revere Pewter. I have lots of our paint colors and more pictures of them here if you’re interested 🙂 http://christinamariablog.com/choosing-neutral-paint-colors-for-the-new-house/
Laura says
Thank you! Is the Revere Pewter a little bit warmer than the Sharkey Gray? From the pictures, I like the warmth of the family room walls. Do the two colors go together well enough to be used next to each other in open connecting spaces? Thanks for your help!
Christina says
yes! Our family room opens up to our kitchen – I think they go really well together. Definitely use swatches first to help you decide which ones you like where – it really looks different in every house!

I love your home and style. I would say its def. my dream home!!! I have a bathroom with untreated barn wood on the bottom half of the wall! I love it and want to change the appearance as it is now dried out looking and some stains here and there.(believe me i have tried cleaning it and i get frustrated)..i wanted to paint it white but with all the cracks in the wood i don’t think that would go well!?.So I thought maybe staining it with a dark stain ,oh and the vanity is made from the same thing..i really want a fresh farm look..white and the trim white and the walls grey, but i don’t think its possible, so what do you think about the really dark stain on the barn wood and the trim and the walls white??? thank you for any help or advice on this matter..i could send pics if you need.
Christina says
Thank you Margie!! We’re working on planning a bathroom remodel ourselves right now – so much work!! But it’ll be so worth it! Without seeing it, I’d say that you could sand the wood to smooth it out a little (it’ll make the cleaning easier). Maybe leave the vanity wood and then paint the walls white? But the biggest advice I have would be to use a great protective marine grade polyurethane. That will keep the wood protected from any moisture issues you may have and will help to protect the finish too! 🙂 Best of luck with your renovation!
