Instagram Inspiration: MrsLaurenAsh

My favorite social media is Instagram.  Hands down.  I love interacting with people there, and I’m inspired every single time I log in.  
 
I started sharing my favorite inspiring Instagram accounts on my blog so I could introduce you to my favorite feeds and the women behind them.  My first feature was the stunning Cape Cod house by Old Silver Shed, and my second was the amazingly talented Patti Wagner.  Today, I’m thrilled to introduce one of my favorites, Lauren (otherwise known as MrsLaurenAsh) Not only is she super talented, but she’s got an incredible story:

She says, “I’m Lauren! Wife, mom and home decor & organization enthusiast. We lost our home in the tornado outbreak that swept through the South in 2011. After a long search we found and fell in love with our Stillwater Farm. Our family resides in Alabama the Beautiful where we just took on the ultimate DIY: A 100 year old farmhouse!”

You guys – her farmhouse is what dreams are made of.  Just take a look at her incredible front porch.  Every detail is just perfect – did you see those shutters up there?  Lauren’s eye for layering and putting different design elements together is just stunning:

She’s super relatable and says her house is a little chaotic right while they’re renovating with a toddler (she says her house style is “Toys-R-Us chic” but I totally don’t buy that!)

She believes it’s incredibly important to be intentional with the things you fill your home with. Clutter gives her anxiety, so she’s pretty selective about what she brings into each space. Her current home has a comfortable, primitive-farmhouse feel.

Someone else realized just how talented Lauren is, and gave her some exciting recognition.  Her home was recently featured on the COVER of Country Living Magazine!

Her son’s room is one of her favorite spaces in their house! She says about this space: “When we first moved into the farmhouse his tiny room had dark green carpeting, three doors and a window. It was cramped, outdated and uninspiring. But, the worse a space looks to begin with, the bigger the transformation! We installed a wood treatment to the walls, got rid of two doors and built a sliding barn door and created a fun reading nook in his dormer. I filled the space with an eclectic combination of farmhouse-industrial and vintage decor that he can grow with. I love rocking my little guy because I get to take in all the fun details while soaking up all the good cuddles! It’s just a space that makes me feel good. And I think that’s one of the most important things we can do. To love the homes we have and to foster spaces that give us joy.” I just love this room – so many smart DIY ideas in one space!

I’m pretty sure I  need to take a road trip out to Alabama to hang out with Lauren and just sit out in this amazing space:

And I love how elements of our styles overlap, but we all have our own signature styles. I can almost always recognize whose photo I’m scrolling past by before ever seeing the username!
