Simple summer kitchen decor – herb prints in painted frames + plants make for simple summer banquette decor.
Whew life has been heavy lately. So much brokenness going on in the world, and so much hurt.
With a heavy heart, I’ve been working on life things around here. If you need a happy + light diversion, I hope this can provide it today!
Simple Summer Kitchen decor:
If you know me at all, you know I just love plants. Houseplants, flower gardens, vegetable gardens…all of it! So to me? Summer decor is all about bringing in the living things. This means through houseplants, dried florals, printed herbs, and even a faux floral stem thrown in there. Why not? 😂
This all started as a simple budget friendly project, and I love how it turned out!
I used prints from my shop to fill inexpensive frames. I painted the mats and the frames with leftover paint I had on hand from previous projects.
By the way, we still love this banquette area! It was another DIY project we did since we moved into the house and it’s so central to our home. It gets used quite heavily as the art center, eating area, and homeschool overflow area.

Adding character with unique decor:
I love how this shelf came together – imperfect, filled with plants, and lots of texture.
I hope this post encourages you to take some time to be creative, move some things around your home, paint some cheap frames…do something to make a space around you a little better than it was before. There’s a whole lot of ugly going on in our world, and we can help bring beauty and peace into our lives every day if we’re intentional about it.
