I hate to admit it, but I’m a total chalk paint newbie. That may not seem like such a big deal to you, but as a DIY blogger of seven years, I feel like this is something I should have conquered a very long time ago! I’m planning on experimenting with chalk paint and milk paint so I can bring some fun tutorials to all of you in the next few months!
Recently, I visited a local shop (for local friends, this is where I got my chalk paint). The lady was so helpful, and she advised me to have some fun and play with chalk paint before I attended one of her workshops to learn how to *really* work with chalk paint. I was looking for a vintage farmhouse green color, and we had a lot of fun experimenting with some different combinations.
We found that the mixture of “Duck Egg” and “Olive” worked beautifully!
I combined equal parts of the two colors in a mason jar, and painted them on this plant stand.
I did two coats, and love how it looks! But can I tell you a secret? I think I’m going to change it in a few days when the paint cures…

For now I’ll enjoy it the way it is, and make sure you subscribe to see what it looks like next! (I also love sharing sneak peeks on my Instagram, so make sure you’re following along!)
