It’s the season to begin planning all of the outdoor projects! I personally can’t wait to get started on the outside of our home…last summer Heidi had just been born, so we didn’t get to do too much outside. This year, she’ll probably be toddling around on the grass while I work on our exterior!
In my quest to have a yard filled with LIFE, I have gotten into finding lots of fun planters. I personally love a combination of regular garden beds, raised planters and planter pots. This year we’ll be adding a raised bed to our yard too! It’s so fun to experiment and see what takes off on our property, and also to see what comes back and thrives year to year.
Our outdoors were so sad and neglected for so many years…it’s been so fun to revive the outside of our house with plants. We still have a LOT to do with our exterior – someday! For now flowers, shrubs and trees provide a budget-friendly face lift while we can’t afford the big ticket items.
Outdoor planter boxes:
These planter boxes are a great way to add some plants in a space where you otherwise would not have any. They’re great to add height to an existing garden as well! I love them on either side of a walkway or entrance to a house, against a fence, or on a sunny porch.
Raised planters:
Go for a more traditional look with wooden raised planters or a more modern look with some of these styles. I love these on a porch!
Outdoor planter pots:
We have such a variety of outdoor planters at our house, and many of them are pots. Use a larger pot to plant a variety of plants in and add some interest, or put some smaller pots on your stairs going into your home to create a welcoming feel when people come visit your home.
Raised garden beds:
We are adding a raised garden bed to our backyard this year and I can’t wait to grow all the veggies!! This is the one we got – my husband is so happy he won’t have to build one!
Aren’t those great? I hope you’re excited to add to your curb appeal this year!
If you’re looking for more budget friendly outdoor projects, here are some we’ve done in the past warm months:

I am definitely in need of some new planters! I would like ones that last a long time and aren’t super pricey or heavy. Some of them are so heavy to pick up even before you put a plant in them!
