I was so blessed to have a baby shower with my closest friends and family last weekend. We decided to hold it at my mom’s house to keep it intimate and personal. We had about 25 people there, and I am so thankful for all of the work that my mom & sister put into this shower! The shower was held at 2 PM, and made it a “dessert baby shower”. Unfortunately, this was planned BEFORE we found out that I have gestational diabetes, so I wasn’t able to participate in much of the food eating, but everyone else loved the desserts & the decorations!
I can’t take credit for these pictures or the decorations, but I did want to share them anyway!
My mom bought some clearance yarn at Michael’s and used it to hang some starched onesies and hats from the windows in the family room (where we opened presents)
See that ADORABLE crib?? It’s been in the family for almost 100 years – my grandpa slept in it! We were actually reallly hoping to use it in our baby’s nursery, but with all of the work that it would’ve taken to get it “up to code” with new safety regulations, it just wasn’t happening :/ Maybe with the next baby! 🙂
The crib was used to hold gifts once the guests got there:
My mom used fresh flowers allll over the house for decorations. It’s amazing how fresh flowers can just make any space feel dressed up and beautiful! (PS – isn’t that diaper caddy SO cute??)
And finally – the sweetest part of the shower – the dessert table! We had cupcakes from a local girl who is starting up a cupcake business (lemon blueberry & chocolate raspberry), two amaaaazing strawberry cakes from a local bakery, various candies, and then fruit kabobs and chocolate covered strawberries made by my mother in law:
The shower was perfect, and it was so nice to be surrounded by people who love us and who already love our little peanut! Here’s just a few pictures of the day:
Buckley was so cute – he was so curious and excited about all of the baby toys!
My mom & sister who put a lot of work into the shower – thanks!!! 🙂
Me with “the grandmas”!!
The proud parents! We’re in the home stretch now!
I LOVE that I have other pregnant friends – these girls are such blessings to me – and I am thrilled to have “built-in” friends for our baby already!! Here we are in order of due dates…
Kelsy & I have been best friends since 4th grade – she’s pregnant with her fourth child, and I’m thrilled that the beginning of my family will overlap with the end of hers!
I loved my baby shower!
What fun and unique ideas have YOU seen at baby showers recently?
Full disclosure: An affiliate link was used for the diaper caddy. As always, I simply love sharing products I already love with you – all opinions are 100% mine!
So sad you couldn’t eat many of the desserts!! how cruel haha. But the partry looks like it was great ! 🙂
Looks like a lovely party! I’m wondering just how many codes that beautiful piece of crib history could be breaking! We have a bassinet that is about that old in my hubby’s family. All of his siblings, the grandchildren and most of the great-grandchildren have all used it, even for just a short period of time. It’s just a family-history kind of thing, I guess!
What a darling, sweet post. The party was so well orchestrated. Everything was beautiful. I am a Nana for the first time and I know how excited the Grandma’s are at the upcoming delivery. Grandchildren are a precious gift from God. May God bless you as you become a mother!!
Oh my goodness that dessert must have been torture! But it all looks beautiful- what a blessing! You’re almost there 🙂
