This fall wreath is made from pool noodles – wrapped with yarn and burlap. This pool noodle wreath is super budget friendly and very simple to make!

Have any of you ever done a yarn-wrapped wreath before? I had been admiring them for years, and finally decided to do one this year. Scratch that – I was going to do TWO yarn-wrapped wreaths. It wasn’t HARD to wrap, it was actually pretty simple! But after wrapping one, I realized I just didn’t have enough patience to do two.
So I ended up just wrapping the inside wreath in yarn, and wrapping the outside wreath with strips of burlap. MUCH easier!
I used a pool noodle trick – I bought 2 pool noodles from the dollar store and just cut one down a little bit. Then I duct-taped the ends together to make a circle. If it’s summer – you can find pool noodles almost anywhere! But if it’s not – thank goodness for Amazon, right?
Here’s what you’ll need for this project:
- Pool noodles
- Yarn (the thicker the better!)
- Duct tape
- Hot glue gun
- Fall “sprigs” (found at any craft store)

Join the ends of your pool noodle and wrap with duct tape to secure. Cut a few inches off of one if you want to make a double wreath.
Then just hot glue & wrap – over and over and over again!
Once I got both wreaths wrapped, I simply stuck and hot glued some fall “bits” I got at JoAnn’s last year on super clearance. I love that they can be shoved in between the cracks of the two wreaths – it makes the whole process even easier!
I hung it up by a strip of burlap, and stood back to admire! I love how thick and big it is!

Have YOU ever tried to wrap a yarn wreath? Does anyone else have issues with tedious crafting like me?
Love the effect of a double wreath! Very cool! 🙂
That is really a great end result! Love it. I can totally see how that would take a lot of patience to do though – I’m not sure I would attempt even one! Good for you getting it done – I really like the two textures, the yarn and the burlap.
I LOVE this! Now I am dying to make one too!
This is very cute Christina! Love the double wreath!
That wreath is so beautiful. You gave me idea how to do my fall wreath, haven’t made one till now!
Love this! So simple and chic!
What a cute idea to do a double wreath! I wrapped a wreath in yarn and it was so exhausting I never ended up embelishing it 🙂
This is my favorite of all the fall wreaths I’ve seen this year! LOVE the double size! I’ve yet to try wrapping with yarn, but I love the look, so just might have to go for it!
Such a lovely wreath! I’ve never seen a double wreath before. so cool!
Love it! Thanks for the double inspiration😍
This is absolutely beautiful. I haven’t seen a double wreath, and I love the different textures you chose. Great work.
Love your wreath! I’ve been wanting to create a yarn wrapped wreath and at least now I’ll know to muster up all my patience and hot glue. 😉 All your time and energy into making this really paid off! It’s so pretty!
I did a Halloween yarn wrapped wreath, I LOVE the look, but the time it took was insane. Your wreath looks amazing. I think I may do a Fall wreath with this technique, great job!
I second that emotion. Those yarn wreaths are adorable, but the wrapping is for the birds. I get so impatient!!!
Cute wreath. Love how this turned out!
So beautiful. I featured it today on my blog… Thank you for sharing!
I love this! Way to take something that wasn’t exactly how your wanted it to look and make it happen! Fabulous job!
DOUBLE WREATH?!! Genious! I love the look of this, it is so original!
The contrasting colours of yarn are perfect for fall.
Maybe i will have to try this with red and green for Christmas! Thanks for sharing on the shabby nest link party. Come visit sometime if you would like to. 🙂
I love the concept of a double wreath and actually like the look of the burlap better than the yarn. This is a good thing for me because I simply don’t have the patience for wrapping the yarn. I will be making this one! Thanks for sharing your talent with us.
