This simple fall fireplace mantel uses materials you can find around your house. Having a pretty fall mantel doesn’t have to be complicated! Let me show you how to create one. Affiliate links included – full disclosure here.
Ahh it’s finally officially fall! My kids have had a count down and we’re all so excited that it’s now here. Of course I celebrated with some simple fall decorations (which my kids don’t really care about…they were excited about apple pie making and apple picking). But I celebrated with some decorating (and if you’re not following me on Instagram – you’ll want to change that! I’ve been sharing ideas on my reels and in my stories!)
Cozy neutral fall decorating:
My favorite way to decorate for fall is with things that don’t necessarily scream “fall”. Sure I put a few leaves and pumpkins here and there but what really says FALL to me is:
- cozy textures
- warm accents (copper, brass, wood tones)
- plaids
- earth tones
- candles
As you can see, I put all of those elements together with this cozy fall mantel and I really love how it turned out!
The nice thing about approaching seasonal decor like this is the fact that you can really use what you already own. I do have a few “fall” bins that I pull out, but nothing like I used to. That ticking stripe pillow above? It can easily be used across all seasons. Those books can too. The lantern is always a decor staple through all the seasons, and the prints don’t specifically scream “fall” but totally work here. By switching from white taper candles to beeswax, it easily transformed the candlesticks into a fall decor piece.

How our fall fireplace fits with the rest of our home:
And I zoomed the camera out a little so you could see my cute dog. Aaactually I wanted to show you how the fireplace flows with the rest of the room. Did you catch how we built our homeschool room right in this living room? It really is SO cozy now that we have it all ready for fall (and the fire going!).
Do you remember how this room looked just a year ago? It’s really come such a long way in just one year!
Click here to see how we transformed the fireplace with limewash (and extended it to the ceiling). Looking back, it was one of my favorite transformations. It didn’t cost a ton of money for the huge visual impact that it made in this space!
If you liked this post or want to save it for some fall decorating inspiration, could you pin any of the images from this post? It helps to share with others and keep my business going. Thank you so much! It really means so much to me!
