How in the world is it mid-October? That boggles my mind. Today’s Friday Favorites is packed with the goodness of fall. Recipes we made this week, beautiful fall exteriors, and budget friendly finds. Make sure you go to the end to see my view the other day…ahhh.
Fall exteriors to be inspired by:
I am still slowly working on getting some fall decor out (I know I know, it’s so late). But just in case you’re still doing the same, here’s some beautiful fall exteriors you might be inspired by like I am:

Deal for holiday decor:
If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ve seen how I make orange garlands most years. There are some people who say “wow – I can’t wait to get oranges and do the same thing!” And there are some that say “So pretty! No way I want to do that though!”. And both responses are 100% valid – no judgement from me ever. IF you are one of those who doesn’t want to make your own, I think this is a great deal. It might actually be cheaper than a big bag of oranges with the way grocery prices are lately…
Great fall recipes we tried this week:
I loved these sourdough cranberry orange scones! We made them for our medieval feast, but we’ll be making them for regular feasting soon. They were delicious – recipe via Vanilla and Bean here.
My family doesn’t really appreciate a good salad (well, my husband and I do, but the kids don’t). BUT when I get to bring a dish for our small group, I love to make a loaded salad or sourdough bread. This kale bacon salad with candied walnuts recipe was new to me, but it was so good! I actually bought enough so I could make it again this week because it was delicious. It also used oranges and cranberries just like those scones! Recipe via Half Baked Harvest here.
Amazon purchase you probably need:
I shared this on Instagram, but just in case you didn’t see it, here’s the link to the fabric shaver I love. It’s one of those things that is SO helpful to have on hand, and is a great way to make the things you already own and love feel new again.
Purchase the fabric shaver here – under $15.

I hope that you’re enjoying some beautiful fall weather wherever you are. We’re having some beautiful and warm fall days, but I see some cooler weather in our weather forecast. This scene stopped me in my tracks on my walk the other day – hope you’re taking time to enjoy the simple things today!
