Friday favorites include: a cozy fall corner (and how fall decorating is coming), recently pinned images, and random finds that I’ve bought lately. This post contains affiliate links.
Fall in my home:
In all reality, I was hoping to get more on my blog & Instagram this week. But we’ve had one of our kids sick since last Saturday, and now kid #2 got sick yesterday (Thursday), and I’m just waiting for the rest of us to fall. So that’s derailed our week quite a bit! I know you moms understand, and that a lot of you are also fighting those fall germs.
I was hoping to get things all truly decorated for fall this week BUT we’ve spent our days on the couch & in the kitchen. Our nights have been restless and filled with trips to the bath to lower fevers and into steamy showers to loosen coughs. And guess what? The mums will still be there next week. The apples are still waiting to be picked. My decorations in the basement aren’t going anywhere. And that’s just fine. Thankfully, there is no “right time” to get all the fall things done, and you have to do what works best for your family and the season you’re in right now.
I DID get one little cozy corner made up. And guess where it is? THE COUCH. Where I’ve spent way too much of my week. I figured I was going to be there snuggling sick kiddos, I might as well be cozy there!
You can purchase the terra cotta vase + florals in my shop here.

Also, just outside of the frame of those pictures. My summer blankets & pillows … completely taken up by Buddy.
Random things I bought lately:
Our puppy is super sweet, he’s doing well potty training (except for rainy days) BUT we have an issue with him at mealtimes. He is such a food stealer and constantly lunges at the table/counter to try to take our food! Our vet told us to redirect and distract, and one of the only things we’ve found that will help him with this are these lick mats. Apparently they’re good for situations like ours, but they’re also good for dogs who deal with anxiety or boredom.
Side note: these are on the small side. They’re also super inexpensive. But if you have a large dog you might need a bigger size!
This top. I LOVE this top. I bought it last year in black and waited for it to go on a good enough sale that I could justify purchasing it in another color. It’s the one I reach for all the time! It is perfect with leggings and a cute pair of sneakers!
Told you this was a random list! I am sick of spending so much money on batteries for my kids toys. I shared the walkie talkies with you guys the other week – I bought these to go with them. Because I didn’t want to be like “Hey kids, don’t keep playing with those walkie talkies, I don’t want to drain the batteries”. So I bought these rechargeable batteries + charger and it’s been so much nicer! I feel like it’s really well priced too.
Inspiring Pins I’ve pinned lately:
First of all – you’re following me on Pinterest, right? I’m still using it daily! Here’s some of my most favorite pins lately:
Inspired by this DIY butler’s pantry from Sincerely Marie Designs. All of it. Just SO gorgeous!
Love the moodiness of this space. The metal accents. Just gorgeous! Via Ashley Montgomery Design
Didn’t know I’d be swooning over a bathroom today but here we are. Style It Pretty Home just made the bathroom such a gorgeous space!
In an alternate world, I’d like to be someone who lives in a home like this one in the English countryside. A girl can dream right? Because this room is DREAMY.
Brilliant DIY Idea:
OK OK this is so smart right? I am always looking to free up some counter space, and I cook a LOT, so I’m at the oven so often. I think I am going to take this idea and tweak it a little and use it in my house! Hmm stay tuned.
