Here’s some great ideas for budget friendly outdoor decor – refresh your space for summer so you can be cozy and comfortable right where you are (no vacation needed). This post is sponsored by Walmart – as always, opinions are always 100% my own.
Since we got a puppy at the end of May, our summer has looked a little different! We have been much more home-bound than we had in the past, and we have been spending a lot of time at home. I mean … my husband works from home and we hybrid homeschool so we definitely spend a lot of time at home anyways
We’ve had some smoky days here (due to the Canadian wildfires) and some super hot and humid days, so there have been times where we’re not able to be outside as easily during the day. But in the evening? That’s our *favorite* time to be outside.
We set the kids up with jars for catching fireflies, scooters, and bubbles, and they love spending time in our yard (and with our little puppy providing lots of entertainment!).
Since we weren’t going away this summer, I decided to spruce up our little front porch area. Since we’re spending so much time out here anyways – it just makes sense to truly love how it looks!
Budget friendly outdoor decor:
I found the best pieces on Walmart this year for our outdoor area. Many of the things in this space I had bought on Walmart in previous years and continue to love them! I added a few key pieces this year that just help us fall in love with spending time out here all over again. I have been consistently pleased with the pieces I have purchased on Walmart in the past, and love the pieces I bought this year as well!

Think beyond just the visual aspects:
When creating a space I love spending time in, I try to incorporate as many of the senses as I can.
Often we focus on the visual aspects, but that’s just one portion of the whole picture!
Adding fresh flowers to any space is always always advisable. While I have a ton of perennials out here, I am so glad I added this planter to the mix too! It’s such a great size and feels really high quality.
Adding coziness through light is SO fun outside. We added the bulb lights and put them on a timer so they’ll go on and off on their own every night. So handy and festive! I love how inviting it feels out here now.
The of course, mosquitos can ruin any fun times you’re having outside in the evening! These tiki torches and citronella candle help control the pests, but also add to the ambiance!
The bottom line:
Love where you live. Create a home you’re not always seeking to escape. And don’t let people fool you into thinking you have to spend a ton of money to make it that way! A few strategic pieces, engaging the senses, and a heavy sense of gratitude. Makes for a pretty perfect summer evening.
