I shared the other day that I’m starting fall decorating much later than usual this year. Maybe it’s the weather. Maybe it’s the unrest in our world. Or just the season of life that I’m in.
But I finally got started on decorating, and then I couldn’t stop!
It actually felt really nice to put my headphones in, get a good audiobook in my ears, and have the kids give all their questions to my husband. I cleaned a lot, and then got our house decorated.
Today, I’m going to share with your our kitchen table banquette area all dressed up for fall:
Fall decorations over our banquette:
This is the first year I’ve had this shelf on top of our built-in banquette to decorate. I’m so happy we did that project! This space really is a fun one to decorate. It adds so much dimension to the room too!
See how we did this project – and before/afters – here.
Fall decor color scheme:
Right now, I’m really feeling drawn to browns and deep greens. Mix those with black, cream, and warm metallics…I think you can’t go wrong!
You can get a sneak peek of how all of these work together in this picture down below…I’ll be sharing our fireplace decor soon!
But you can see how in this picture, I bought two new chairs for our table! I got these brown chairs on the end of our table, and let me tell you, they’re so comfortable! They’re inexpensive, comfortable, and have great reviews. I am a big fan, and it will help 2 more people sit down at our table (you know…once we start doing indoor gatherings with groups again)
I got the chairs from Walmart home – they’re sold in a set of 2 and are so well priced!

Other (budget friendly) fall decorations:
While I was shopping on Walmart’s website, I looked in their “Wow & Now” section. I talked about this last month when I made over my best friend’s porch. They change the things in this section every month, and I found so many good items for fall this time! I purchased the leaf garland, pillows, and lanterns from the Wow & Now section.
I also got to pick up some napkins and coasters which aren’t pictured here, but I’ll link them below too!
These lanterns are just beautiful. I bought them in the large, medium AND small size so I could have a set of 3. They’re so sturdy and a great substantial size. I’m a big fan.

Free vintage fall prints:
Did you see the frames on the top of the shelf? Did you realize that they’re just printed out vintage oil paintings?
If you didn’t know, The Smithsonian has a database of artwork available to the general public on their website. I scoured through hundreds of art tagged with the “autumn” or “fall” tags, and I found some really beautiful pieces for you to download!
If you subscribe to my free printable newsletter, you’ll get access to these prints (as well as a library of alllll the other free printables I have shared over the years!)
