See how we transformed our dining area from dull & boring to a space that is full of life – and spring decorations on a budget! Thank you to Tuesday Morning for sponsoring this post – as always, opinions are always 100% my own.
It’s officially SPRING! My favorite time of the year! I find myself looking for ways to clean out and then refresh every corner of our home at this time of year. Our dining area was functioning well for us, but in all honesty…it was just kind of blah. The picture on the left was how it looked on a normal day, but there’s usually a lot more crumbs on the table 😉 But after shopping at Tuesday Morning, I was able to bring it to the picture on the right, and the best thing is, I was able to do this on a budget!
Once we got it looking so pretty, I immediately wanted to have friends over to enjoy it with us. Isn’t that funny? The “before” view didn’t get me as excited to host people, but as soon as I spruced up this space, I was like “Who can we invite over this weekend?!”
Spring decorating in our dining area:
Our sweet family friends had just had their third baby, and we asked if they’d be willing to leave their house and let us give them some good food. Also – thanks to Lauren (she has her own blog too! Find her at Heart of Deborah) for being such a sport since I was taking pictures of them eating – haha! Blogging life is funny.
Keeping it casual:
Since we have six kids between the two families (which is crazy!) we made sure to keep it casual. I found a washable tablecloth at Tuesday morning that I loved! I bought adorable ceramic pink bowls, but I put cute disposable plates to go under them. They had a lot of really cute options, and I was so happy to have an option that helped us when it was time to clean up.
We served brunch, which is one of my most favorite foods to give our friends when they’re over! It just seems like everyone loves it, and the kids never complain about breakfast food!
Spring decorating on a budget:
I was so happy to find beautiful pieces from brand names I recognized, but at an amazing price point. I was especially impressed by their textiles (tablecloths, runners, napkins, tea towels). I also was thrilled to find those patterned vases for $7.99 each! Seriously – I found the best deals!
I bought almost ALL of the decorations at my local Tuesday Morning – and then added in some live plants to the middle of the table to add some life to the space – because plants are my favorite part of spring decorating!
I’m just so happy with how this space came together, and you KNOW I love sharing good deals with you guys. I hope this encourages you to go into your local Tuesday Morning store and have fun finding items that help spaces in your home come alive!
