Come on in and see this inspiring and easily achievable farmhouse bedroom design. Planked walls, wood tones, lots of DIY projects, and soft textures soften up the room.
This bedroom makeover all started with a great sale on a rug…it quickly became a “If you give a mouse a cookie” moment. Let’s just change the title to “If you give Christina a rug…”
As much as my husband wasn’t excited to jump into another room makeover after our huge bathroom renovation, this one really was a quick and easy cosmetic makeover. It’s totally achievable and able to be recreated in your own home.
I talked all about our farmhouse bedroom design plan, inspiration, and paint colors in this post here. So today is all about the fun finished pictures!
All sources are linked at the bottom of this post. A big “thank you” to Stikwood, Curtis Creation & Stone Cottage Home for providing me with some beautiful products for this makeover.
What really makes this room is the wall we added Stikwood to. It’s the perfect solution for planking plaster walls – because it’s just like a reclaimed wood “sticker”. Read more about how we installed it here.
We recited Ruth 1:16 at our wedding – “Where you go, I will go. Where you stay, I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.” We love the reminder of our vows in such a prominent place in our bedroom.
Also- the bedding from Stone Cottage Home is just perfect for this space – it really works with the lace curtains and they all help to soften the wood tones and darker colors.
Much of the farmhouse decor came from one of my most favorite sources – Curtis Creation. She’s got the BEST faux greenery:
The tobacco basket above our bed is just my favorite. I love the texture and dimension it gives the room, and it’s just such a great quality piece:
The DIY window valences are also another one of my favorite features of this bedroom. They’re super budget friendly and a very simple DIY build – find the whole tutorial here!
I’ll also be sharing the tutorial for these signs – I just love how simple they are!
I find myself really drawn to textures, warm wood tones, and moody neutral colors. And the touches of greenery (real and faux) just add to the whole look. I couldn’t be happier with how this bedroom turned out!

So calming and relaxing.
This is amazing!! A perfect farmhouse transformation & your blog is beautiful! I’m so glad to have met you over on Instagram with our follow train!
Love these changes, Christina. The numbers and wreath on the back of the doors are such simple changes but made such a difference. Best of all, I have the same sleigh bed so it would be easy to achieve a similar look ;). Erin
When are you posting the tutorial for the signs?? So excited to see it!!!
I’m dying to know how too!!!!!
When will you be sharing how you made the signs?! I love them!
I will!! Still need to write up the tutorial!!
I look forward to the sign tutorial. My husband and I celebrated 21 yrs of marriage last month and these would be perfect in our room. Beautifully done as usual. ?
What are the new bedroom colors?
Can you tell me what color your gray accent wall is?
Hey Michele! Sorry here’s the link that explains the paint color – it’s a little tricky to explain 🙂 https://christinamariablog.com/neutral-farmhouse-bedroom-design/
Love the bedroom. Everything is so all of a piece – calm, tranquil, simple yet elegant. The signs by the bed really hit an emotional chord with me as when my husband and I married in 1958, I had “whither thou goest” inscribed on the interior of his wedding band and this I did, a wonderful journey until he passed away in 1999. Your home is lovely, thank you for sharing.
I love that, Jill! We said that passage at our wedding too – 10 years ago now!
